Bovidone XL and XL-10 are brand names for Crospovidone, a polyvinylpolypyrrolidone (PVP-P).

Applications

• As a water-insoluble tablet super disintegrant, it can be used for direct compression and dry or wet compression of tablets, generally at a concentration of 2-5%, and can quickly show high capillary activity and excellent hydration without gel formation. It has a short disintegration time, but a high dissolution rate, high stability, and high tablet hardness.
• It can be used as a dry binder, filler, and excipient for tablets, capsules, and granules. Due to the small particle size of povidone, it can reduce the localized formulation when pressing tablets and improve the uniformity of tablets.
• Used as a dissolution promoter, it can increase the solubility of insoluble drugs through co-transpiration.
• Used as a suspension stabilizer, can improve the suspension stability of oral liquid preparation.
• Widely used in the food industry as a filter aid in the production of wine, beer, and fruit juice.
• PVPP can form stable complexes with polyphenols.

Packaging and Storage

• Packed in 20 kg fiber drums or 30 kg plastic drums lined with double-layer pharmaceutical polyethylene film bags, using a nitrogen purge system to keep the peroxide stable.
• Store in a dry place at room temperature.
