Copovidone, or PVP VA 64, is a copolymer of N-vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate in a ratio of 6:4 by mass.
It is a white or slightly yellowish free-flowing powder with a faint peculiar odor and almost no taste.
It is readily soluble in all hydrophilic solvents and can be formulated in water, ethanol, isopropanol, dichloromethane, glycerol, and propylene glycol in concentrations greater than 10%.
It is less soluble in e-ther, cyclic, aliphatic, and alicyclic hydrocarbons.
