Brief Introduction of Dsip
DSIP stands for Delta sleep-inducing peptide. This type of peptide is classified as a neuropeptide and it works by inducing spindle and delta EEG activity and by reducing motor activity. It has a molecular formula of C35H49N10O18P1, and it has a molecular weight of 928.8, its appearance is that of a white powder.
DSiP (Delta Sleep-Indducing Peptide) is a neuropeptide located in the hypothalamus, pituitary gland and adrenal glands. Its isolation allowed extensive tests in which several possible primary and peripheral roles of this peptide were discovered.
DSiP has been shown to induce sleep, can benefit as an analgesic in the treatment of chronic pain, sometimes as a supportive treatment.
DSiP has been shown to block ACTH release and reduces ACTH, stimulates LH release and acts as an inhibitor of somatostatin.
Through the blood-brain barrier (BBB) it is easier than most known neuropeptides. As mentioned, DSiP showed positive results in the induction of slow-wave EEG (sleep). It was stated that it helps in the treatment of narcolepsy and restores disturbed sleep patterns for normal sleep rhythm.
