Brief Introduction of Gonadorelin Acetate
Gonadorelin is a drug that is naturally released from the hypothalamus of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). GnRH causes the pituitary to release other hormones (luteinizing hormone [LH] and follicle stimulating hormone [FSH])). LH and FSH control child development and adult fertility.
Gonadorelin is used to test the operation of the hypothalamus and pituitary glands. In the case where the hypothalamus does not release enough GnRH, it can also be ovulated (the eggs are released from the ovaries) because there is no regular ovulation and menstrual period.
How does it work?
Gonadorelin is a hormone that is naturally produced by the hypothalamus in the brain. Also known as gonadotropin releasing hormone or GnRH.
Gonadorelin stimulates the pituitary to release sex hormone luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). In women, FSH stimulates estrogen production and ovarian development. LH stimulates ovaries to release eggs (ovulation). In men, LH stimulates testis to produce hormone testosterone, FSH stimulates testis to produce sperm.
Gonadorelin was given by injection to check whether the pituitary gland was producing LH and FSH. This can help diagnose various hormonal disorders, including infertility, delayed adolescence and hypogonadism.
