Tb-500 is a synthetic version of thymosin-4, a peptide that occurs naturally in almost all human and animal cells. This potent peptide is a member of a ubiquitous family of 16 related molecules with a highly conserved sequence and localization in most tissues and circulating cells in vivo. Tb-500 can not only bind to actin, but also block actin polymerization, and is an actin sequestering molecule in eukaryotic cells.
