1. Academy of Sciences. Selank is a heptapeptide with the sequence Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro. It is a synthetic analogue of a human tetrapeptide tuftsin.

There is evidence that it may also modulate the expression of brain-derived neurotropic factor (BDNF) in rats.

1. Selank is a heptapeptide anxiolytic drug produced by the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IMG RAS). It is considered an anxiety or a substance that has anti-anxiety effects.

Selank is a synthetic analogue of the endogenously produced peptide Tuftsinand is known to be able to improve and positively change the immune system, which classifies Selank as immunomodulatory.

Semax, another nootropic heptapeptide is a drug closely related to Selank that has been approved for human use in both Ukraine and Russia. The highest efficiency - completely supressed viral reproduction was shown when Selank was added to the cell culture 24 hours before inoculation.
